EBC 2025 brings 6,000 crypto professionals to Barcelona

The European Blockchain Convention is back in Barcelona for its 11th run on October 16-17, 2025. This year’s edition expects more than 6,000 attendees and over 300 speakers from both traditional finance and crypto. A new networking system has already matched participants for 10,000+ one-on-one meetings.
Barcelona will host the 11th European Blockchain Convention this October, marking the event’s biggest turnout since it launched in 2018. The conference runs two days and brings together executives from legacy banks, crypto startups, and asset managers.
Traditional banks show up
The speaker list includes representatives from J.P. Morgan, BNP Paribas, Banco Santander, and BBVA – names rarely seen at crypto conferences just a few years ago. They’ll appear alongside crypto-native companies like Bitpanda, Galaxy, CoinFund, OKX, and Bullish. Asset managers KKR and Bitwise Asset Management are also on the agenda, along with blockchain protocols like Algorand.
Daniel Salmeron, one of EBC’s co-founders, pointed to the institutional presence as a signal:
The participation of so many traditional banks and financial institutions demonstrates their optimism about the future of crypto and digital assets.
10,000+ meetings pre-booked
This year’s conference introduces a matchmaking platform that connects attendees before they arrive. More than 10,000 one-on-one meetings have already been scheduled – organizers say it’s the largest pre-arranged networking effort at any European blockchain event.
Victoria Gago, co-founder of EBC, noted the response:
We have seen an extraordinary increase in registrations and interest from exhibitors after the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our previous edition.
What’s on the agenda
Conference sessions cover tokenization, stablecoin infrastructure, AI in crypto, institutional ETF demand, L1 and L2 scaling, DePIN networks, restaking, Web3 UX, and Bitcoin treasury strategies.
Startup pitches and hackathon
Fifty European blockchain startups will pitch at the Start-up Battle, the event’s third annual competition. A 48-hour hackathon runs at the same time, with 200+ developers and 30+ mentors building projects across 20 teams.
Off-site events
Conference attendees can join a sunset beach party, morning run along the coast, wine tasting, or tour Michelin-starred restaurants. The dates overlap with the Sitges Film Festival, Salón Náutico boat show, and CSIO Barcelona equestrian competition.
